Ranging from experienced campers to first-timers, the community experience of tenting, cooking, and hiking together largely influenced the collaborative artwork that was created during the experience. The artists worked together to forage ingredients for fireside meals, explore the wildlife-rich environment, and incorporate the area’s natural surroundings into their artwork. Artists from New York were given an invaluable introduction to the natural wilderness and artists from the local community were given the opportunity to connect with other creators and educate them on the Pacific Northwest’s artistic heritage.
